Some care tasks wait for plants to reach certain growth stages. When plants need to grow more, you’ll see helpful hints explaining what to expect and when tasks should appear.

Common waiting situations:

  • Tasks waiting for plants to flower or set fruit
  • Perennial plants waiting for seasonal changes
  • Temporary cooldown periods between similar tasks
  • Tasks waiting for specific plant growth stages

3. Work with task cards

Each task shows essential information at a glance:

  • When it’s due or when you completed it
  • Which plants it affects
  • Whether it’s overdue, in progress, or seasonal
  • Where it came from (care routine or custom task)

Understanding task types

Automatic care tasks

Care routines create tasks automatically based on:

  • How often care is needed (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Seasonal timing for appropriate care periods
  • Which plants need the specific care
  • Plant growth stages that trigger certain tasks

Custom tasks

Create your own tasks for:

  • Special garden projects
  • Unexpected repair or maintenance needs
  • Unique plant care requirements
  • Seasonal cleanup work

Recurring tasks

Many garden tasks happen repeatedly:

  • Weekly watering schedules
  • Monthly fertilizing routines
  • Seasonal pruning and cleanup
  • Regular pest monitoring

Plant growth and task timing

Growth stage tracking

Your tasks connect to plant development:

  • Tasks wait for plants to reach appropriate growth stages
  • You can update plant stages as you observe changes
  • New tasks appear when plants reach key milestones
  • This ensures care happens at the right time for each plant

Seasonal awareness

Tasks appear based on garden timing:

  • Spring tasks emerge when growing season begins
  • Summer care focuses on heat and water management
  • Fall work covers harvesting and cleanup
  • Winter tasks handle protection and planning
